A CW station in Edmonton

I'm Jorge, a ham since 2022 operating 100% CW. I learned the code with the Long Island CW Club and an iPhone app called Morse-It, and these days I spend as much time as I can activating parks for POTA.

Station log

Notes from the shack and the parks, newest first.

  1. 46 contacts at Coal Lake North

My busiest activation so far, at the park where I made my first one back in May.

  2. Operating CSKM for VE6

A month on the straight key for SKCC's Canadian Straight Key Month, operating for Alberta.

  3. My first park activation

A picnic table by the lake at Coal Lake North, the QMX, a Bendix key and the start of a summer spent in parks.

  4. Building the QRP Labs 50 W amplifier

The second QRP Labs kit on the bench, and what it adds to the QMX in the field.

  5. My first kit: the QRP Labs QMX

Winding toroids and soldering a mid-band QMX, my first radio built from parts.

Parks on the Air

11 activations across 6 parks and 212 contacts, all CW. As a hunter I've worked 117 parks and earned 8 awards, from Bronze Hunter up to Sapphire Hunter.
